Rejoice, Greek fans of Freestyle Football: a brand-new tournament, the BATTLES 2023, is around the corner!

This event will take place on May 28th starting at 11h EEST at the Thivon 5×5 Fields, located in the city of Athens, Greece. The tournament will include a 1×1 battles competition both for male and female freestylers, as well as a Meet.

International Freestyle Football Cup 2023

Great news for German fans of Freestyle Football: the third edition of the International Freestyle Football Cup is around the corner!

This open event will take place on October 7th starting at 14h CET at the Mehrzweckhalle, located in the city of Horgenzell in the Baden-Württemberg region of Germany. The tournament will include a 1×1 battles competition both for male and female freestylers in separate brackets, as well as a Meet.

The participation fee is 30€; winners will get a cash prize! Participants will also be able to stay at the gym overnight at no extra cost if they wish to do so.

Great news for French fans of Freestyle Football: the awesome Naostyle Cup is around the corner!

This event, open to all freestylers from France, will take place between April 22nd and 23rd starting at 11h CET at the Complexe Sportif du Patisseau, located in the city of Sainte Luce sur Loire in the Loire-Atlantique region of France.

The tournament will include the following categories:
- 1×1 battles
- Challenge
- Panna
- French Groundmove Cup

The participation fee for the Naostyle Cup is 5€; freestylers can stay all night at the gym for free, and will also get free lunch on Sunday. Winners will get cash prizes, as well as gifts from event partners Adidas, Foreverlution and Panna House!

Morocco x Japan Freestyle Fest 2023

Great news for the fans of the most innovative Freestyle Football events: two very different cultures will meet in an extraordinary showdown at the Morocco x Japan Freestyle Fest 2023!

This event will take place on March 3rd starting at 3 pm at the Bergama venue, located in the city of Rabat in Morocco. The tournament will include a 1×1 battles tournament both for male and female freestylers in a mixed bracket, as well as a Meet to exchange tricks and experiences.

In this event, the audience will judge who is the best freestyler of all the participants: the winners will get awesome prizes, including a Speen football, a ball holder, and other surprises!

Great news for German fans of Freestyle Football: the first edition of Magic Ball Cölbe is around the corner!

This open event will take place between April 21st and 23rd starting at 11h CET at the Cölbe Sporthalle, located in the city of Cölbe in the Hesse region of Germany. The tournament will include 1×1 battles both for male and female freestylers in separate brackets.

Big news for fans of Lower competitions: the Online Female Lowers Competition comes back in 2022 with its second edition!

The event will take place on a fully online basis between December 11th, 2022 and March 3rd, 2023. In order to participate, female freestylers must send their qualification video, lasting between 50 and 60 seconds, to jasmijnwffa@gmail.com before the start of the tournament on December 11th.

Goldball Freestyle Championship 2022

Great news for freestylers in Spain – and the whole of Europe: the Goldball Freestyle Championship is back in 2022!

This year, the competition moves from Ávila to a bigger setup in the city of León, in the Castilla y León region. Between December 9th and 10th, the auditorium at the León City Council will host a 1×1 Freestyle Football competition that will include separate categories for men and women, as well as beginners.

The registration fee is 35€ and it includes two hotel nights with breakfast, lunch and dinner on December 10th, a welcome pack and health insurance. To sign up, visit the official website of the tournament!

Awesome news for the next generation of freestylers from all around the world: one of the WFFA’s most important tournaments, the World Youth Freestyle Football Championship, is back in 2022!

This year, the tournament grows and changes its platform, from the old WFFA App to a new, easier format based on Whatsapp (or an equivalent messaging tool for countries where this service is not available). In this edition of the competition, you won’t need to worry about technical issues and you’ll be able to focus completely on showing us your best Freestyle Football moves!

Remember: to participate in the Youth Championship, you must be 15 years of age or younger on the date when registrations close. See below for more information!

Registration

Registrations for the 2022 WFFA Youth Championship are completely free and will be open between October 24th and November 7th. Important: no new signups will be accepted after November 7th, so make sure to register on time!

To sign up, follow this process:
1. Go to the GameDay page of the event and follow the registration process: once completed, you’ll receive an email with a link to the Parental Form
2. Get the Parental Form signed by your mother, father or legal guardian and send it back to forms@thewffa.org before November 7th, 2022
3. When your form is approved, you will receive a Whatsapp message and you will be able to send the qualification video
4. The team of judges will select the best 128 videos (64 for boys and 64 for girls) and rank them to progress onto the next stage of the competition
Do not forget that in order to participate you will need to be 15 years of age or younger when registrations close on November 7th, 2022.

Competition structure

This year, the WFFA Youth Championship will follow this timeline:
1. October 24th to November 7th: Registration period. No registrations will be accepted after November 7th
2. November 9th to November 16th: Qualification stage. Freestylers will be asked to send their qualification videos between those dates. No videos will be accepted after November 16th
3. November 29th to December 5th: Top64 stage in Circles format, all happening via Whatsapp
4. December 12th to December 15th: Top16 stage in 1×1 battles format, all happening via Whatsapp
5. December 17th: Grand Finals (Top8, Semifinals, Bronze Battles, Finals) happening on a live event; participants will get all information beforehand so they can prepare accordingly
Format

In the qualification stage, the clips of the participants will be evaluated by three different judges, who will give them scores on a scale from 1 to 10. The marks from the three judges will be added up, and the participants will then be ranked according to their total score. In case of a score draw between two freestylers, the Head of Judging will intervene and use his quality vote to break the tie.

The circles will then be created according to the aforementioned ranking from the qualification stage and following the usual seeding procedure: the freestyler ranked first will be placed in a group with the last, the second with the second last, and so on.

In the circles, three judges will evaluate and score each of the three videos sent by the participants on a scale of 1 to 10. The best-ranked freestylers across all the circles will progress onto the next stage; the general ranking coming from these circles (that is, the total amount of points earned by each freestyler, accumulating the points earned by each of their three videos) will be used to determine the battles in the Top16. In case of a score draw between two freestylers, the results of the qualification stage will be used to break the tie.

Rules

The 2022 edition of the WFFA Youth Championship will use the Official Rules of Freestyle Football for its battles. Any specific rules and regulations affecting the competition will be published on the corresponding page of the WFFA website.

The Art Basel Freestyle Football Championship 2022

Fantastic news for all fans of Freestyle Football in the United States of America – and the whole world!

This year’s edition of Baselball, a unique football tournament and festival part of the world-renowned Art Basel fair, will include an open Freestyle Football tournament!

Between December 2nd and 3rd, the Urban Indoor Futbol venue in Miami, Florida will host a 1×1 Freestyle Football battles competition that will include separate tournaments for men and women. The entry fee is $20 USD. Prizes and judges will be announced on the social channels of the event – stay tuned!

Baselball is part of Art Basel FC, an art-infused football experience. This four-day event is where art and football intersect and harness their power for positive community impact. All money raised through Art Basel FC benefits projects that help make play more easily accessible in under-resourced communities.

Danish National Freestyle Football Championship 2022

Calling all freestylers from Denmark: the Danish National Freestyle Football Championship is back in 2022! This year, the tournament will take place at the traditional Street Under Buen venue, in Copenhagen, on September 3rd starting at 11h.

The championship, organised by the vibrant Danish Freestyle Football Community, will offer separate brackets for men and for women. To participate, you just need to fill in this Google Forms!
