    The WFFA announces its 15 Regional Key Leaders around the world

    The World Freestyle Football Association has confirmed today the list of its 15 Regional Key Leaders, the backbone of the Global Network of the Association across the five continents. The roster has had just one change since 2024, as Vincent ‘Spinny Vinnie’ Grady, from the USA, has stepped down from his role and will be replaced by Roberto ‘Cero’ Sanciprián, from Mexico.

    The respected individuals that conform to this list, a mix of current and former athletes of all ages and origins, will act yet another year as the connection between the Global Team and Board of the WFFA and the local communities in the 119 countries where the Association has a representative.

    Pekko ‘PeGe’ Piirto, the Head of the Global Network, said: “Once again, it’s a great honour for us to announce these amazing fifteen freestylers, true trailblazers in their respective communities, as our Key Leaders. We are sad to see our beloved Spinny Vinnie leave the position and we send him our most heatfelt thank you for his awesome work these years; on the flip side, though, we are delighted to welcome Cero to the team. Now, all systems are go for a great season in 2025!”.

    Armenia, Bangladesh, Cuba and El Salvador join the Global Network

    The World Freestyle Football Association has announced today the inclusion of four new members to its most precious structure, the Global Network: Armenia, in Europe, Bangladesh, in Asia-Pacific, and Cuba and El Salvador, in Central America-Caribbean, have officially joined the list of communities that help the WFFA shape and evolve the sport of Freestyle Football around the world.

    Four renowned freestylers and respected figures in their local communities (Hayk Aghaqaryan in Armenia, Salim Sadman Sii in Bangladesh, Hugo Manuel Corcho in Cuba and Kenneth Zelaya in El Salvador) will become the new Country Leaders of these three nations, the latest to join an organisation that now spans across 117 countries in all inhabited continents.

    Pekko ‘PeGe’ Piirto, Head of the Global Network, said: “It’s with great pleasure that we welcome another four nations to our Network. The four selected Country Leaders are true freestylers at heart, with a strong love for our sport and a great desire to help it grow and develop. We are really looking forward to working together with all of them!”.

    Steve Elias, President of the WFFA, added: “I am really happy and proud to see how the Global Network, the most important tool we have at the Association to help our sport develop, keeps growing unstoppably. We can now cater to communities and individuals across over 100 countries, and we want to keep expanding our reach to offer the best possible support to every single freestyler on the planet”.

    The task to build and consolidate the Global Network doesn’t end here: new additions are currently in the making, with individuals in several countries having presented their credentials to join the organisation. The Freestyle Football community can expect more exciting updates very soon!

  • Sri Lanka joins the WFFA Global Network

    Sri Lanka joins the WFFA Global Network

    The World Freestyle Football Association family keeps growing around the world: this November, Sri Lanka was confirmed as the newest member of the Global Network, an international structure that now includes up to 115 countries from all inhabited continents.

    The new incorporation of Sri Lanka is a product of the agreement between the WFFA and Colombo FC, the country’s most successful football club in the last decade. The deal will see local Freestyle Football star Niran Kanishka become the WFFA Country Leader, servicing the Sri Lankan community and ensuring the development of the sport across the nation with the constant support of the WFFA Global Team.

    Steve Elias, President of the WFFA, said: “It’s an honour for us to expand into a country with a vibrant Freestyle Football community such as Sri Lanka. We are thrilled to announce this new deal, particularly given the huge prestige of Colombo FC, and we are certain that it will have a strong impact not just in the local scene but also in all the region.”

    Niran Kanishka, the newly appointed WFFA Country Leader in Sri Lanka, said: “Being a footballer myself for Colombo FC, playing football with flair has been my routine since I started. There are many talents in Sri Lanka like myself who love expressing our creativity with the ball: our main goal is to create a platform for all the hidden gems in our country. This will be a great opportunity for Sri Lankan freestylers to shine!

    Pekko ‘PeGe’ Piirto, Head of the Global Network at the WFFA and a leading figure in the establishment of the deal, said: “Seeing the constant growth of the Global Network in recent years fills me with pride and hope for the future. I have absolutely no doubt that Niran will do an amazing job at nurturing the local scene; we look forward to discovering all the talent that Sri Lanka can offer the world!”.
