The Netherlands take over the most spectacular World Open of all times: Jasmijn Janssen and Jesse Marlet win Super Ball 2025

The 2025 edition of the Super Ball World Open, the greatest and most celebrated Freestyle Football event on the globe, concluded on Friday, August 29th with an absolutely extraordinary Finals held at the state-of-the-art SportsDock arena in London, United Kingdom. The first edition of the event to be ever organised outside of the Czech Republic brought together the greatest freestylers in the world for an unforgettable show – one that many will remember as the most spectacular in the history of the competition!

After a week of mind-blowing battles and extraordinary heroics in the six extra categories (Sick Three, Challenge, Routines, Double Routines, Iron Man & Woman and Kill the Beat), two Dutch superstars, Jesse Marlet in the male bracket and Jasmijn Janssen in the female bracket, stood out on top and won the 1×1 Battles tournament.

In the male category, French star Tristan Gac took second position, with Argeninian sensation Ignacio ‘Ignachav’ Chávez claiming the bronze medal after an extraordinary performance. In the female tournament, Venezuelan legend and Super Ball OG Laura Biondo climbed to the second position in the podium, with Panamanian rising star Diana ‘Karol’ Rojer taking the third place.

Besides the Pro bracket, the 1×1 Battles tournament also featured the NextGen and Division 2 categories: in the former, French starlet Ilian Nemoz won the title after defeating the defending champion, Polish sensation Pan Pawel; meanwhile, in the second division, Maximiliano ‘El Tigre’ Valle Bernal from the USA took the crown after defeating the Palestinian hero Yousef ‘Yusu’ Hawari.

In the special mentions section, the extraordinary feat of Sofie Johannsen, from Denmark, cannot be overstated: the Danish teenager took the victory in all the lowers categories, with a trio of gold medals in Sick Three, Iron Woman and Challenge. In a similar fashion, Leon Pokrovsky, from Japan, took the highest spot in the podium in all artistic disciplines, with victories in Routines, Double Routines and Kill the Beat.

WFFA Super Ball World Open 2025

The biggest and most prestigious open competition in the Freestyle Football global circuit, Super Ball, will be back in 2025! This year, the event leaves the Czech Republic for the first time ever and moves to the city of London, in the United Kingdom, to offer a variety of amazing locations for all of its competitions!

The 2025 edition of Super Ball will take place at the SportsDock arena, next to the University of East London campus. The best freestylers from all over the world, including an estimated 500 participants from over 40 countries, will gather between August 25th and 29th to show off their best skills in an attempt to be crowned champion across as many as 7 different categories for both male and female athletes.

Over the week, the event hotel will also play host to the Freestyle Football Congress, a unique platform created by the WFFA to discuss and forge the future of the sport together with the global community.

Just like its predecessors, Super Ball 2025 will be an open event: this means athletes of all levels and nationalities will be able to participate, including the youngest ones thanks to the NextGen tournament for freestylers under the age of 16. The athletes competing in this tournament will need to be 15 years of age or younger on the check-in date, August 25th. The signups process will open on May 14th and close on August 18th; there will be no extensions, so all athletes who haven’t signed up by the end of the registration period will not be allowed to compete. All participants and visitors will get a wristband when they check in to access all areas of the event. There will be extra wristbands available for visitors who want to buy them on-site, but not for participants: signing up on-site is not allowed!

This year, registration for the event will happen through FS Meet, a tool developed by the amazing German community – truly by freestylers, for freestylers! The WFFA has set up a refund policy for registrations; athletes who can’t travel due to a justified reason (i.e. sickness, injury or denial of travel visa) can ask for their money back, but only before July 30th. The organising committee strongly recommends all athletes who need a visa to get their invitation letter first using the widget available at the beginning of the registration process on FS Meet: once they are cleared to travel, they may sign up as participants.

The 2025 Super Ball Finals, starting on Friday, August 29th at 15:40h BST, will be of free access for all freestylers and fans; however, anyone willing to come enjoy the full week (Monday to Friday) will be asked to get a Visitor Pass when registering via FS Meet. This year’s edition of the tournament will include 7 disciplines, each of them with its male and female categories (except for Kill the Beat, Routines and Crew Routines, as they’re mixed competitions):

· 1×1 Battles: the main competition of the event, a clash of individual quality and mental strength in which two athletes compete by showing their best skills to the team of judges.

· Routine: a showcase of individual mastery in which an athlete demonstrates their quality alongside their music to impress and entertain.

· Double Routine: a spectacle of synchrony in which two athletes work together to show their most amazing moves combined.

· Sick Three: a competition looking for the best combination of 3 consecutive tricks.

· Challenge: athletes must complete tricks from a criteria list to pass through each round, getting progressively more difficult and a limited number of attempts; specially designed for lovers of fast combinations with the lower body.

· Kill the Beat: a competition in which freestylers need to mix their tricks with a set music track… in a live format!

· Iron Man & Woman: a marathon in basic lower body combinations and stamina – only for the toughest athletes!

Goldball Freestyle Championship Salamanca 2024

Great news for freestylers in Spain – and the whole world: the 2024 edition of the Goldball Freestyle Championship is around the corner!

This open, ranked tournament will take place on December 6th starting at 19h CET at the Centro Municipal Integrado Julián Sánchez el Charro in Salamanca. The event will be open to both males and females in separate brackets and will include the following categories:

1×1 Battles
3×3 Battles
Iron Man & Woman

The registration fee is 20€ to participate in the event only, or 55€ if the freestyler also wants to stay in a double room at the official event hotel during the nights of December 6th and 7th; there’s also the option of staying at a single room for a price of 80€. The winners of the different categories will get awesome awards, including a scholarship at the UCAV university valued in more than 4,000€!

Great news for freestylers in the United Kingdom: the 2024 edition of the UK Freestyle Football Championships is around the corner!

This National, ranked tournament will take place on November 23rd starting at 11 am GMT at the Friar Park Millennium Centre in Wednesbury, United Kingdom. The event will be open to both males and females in separate brackets and will include the following categories:

1×1 Battles
Challenge
Iron Man & Woman

The registration fee is £22.5 GBP, with visitor tickets at £10 GBP. The winners of the different categories will get awesome awards!

A new generation takes over: Isabel Wilkins and Tristan Gac win Super Ball 2024

The 2024 edition of the Super Ball World Open, the greatest and most celebrated Freestyle Football event on the globe, concluded on Saturday, August 24th with an absolutely extraordinary Finals held at the picturesque town square in Liberec, Czech Republic. With a completely revamped show and four brand-new venues, this year’s event truly broke all records – including that of participants, with up to 272 freestylers taking part in the competition.

The event started with the qualifiers of a variety of competitions taking place at the Sports Hall of the Babylon Wellness Hotel and concluded with French rising powerhouse Tristan Gac, the current European champion, taking gold in the male 1×1 Battles category after beating Colombian superstar Sebastián ‘Machine’ Peña in the Grand Final. Dutch master and 2023 Super Ball champion Jesse Marlet had to settle for the bronze medal this time.

In the female Pro category, British teenage rising star Isabel ‘Izzy’ Wilkins repeated her extraordinary feat from 2023 and won gold yet again after defeating French icon Yoanna Dallier; yet another teenage promise, Sofie Johannsen from Denmark, took the third spot on the podium.

Besides the Pro bracket, the 1×1 Battles tournament also featured the NextGen and Division 2 categories; in the former, Polish sensation Pan Pawel won the title thanks to his victory against German Felix Kraemer, while in the latter, Belarusian freestyler Python took the crown after beating Futbolín from Colombia in the Final.

For the first time, the 2024 edition of Super Ball hosted the Footbag World Championships as well, an event organised together with the International Footbag Players Association. The great success of the Footbag competitions in Liberec and the harmony between both communities paved the way for a fruitful collaboration across this and other events in the future.

Super Ball World Open 2024

The biggest and most prestigious open competition in the Freestyle Football global circuit, Super Ball, will be back in 2024! This year, the event moves to the city of Liberec, in the Czech Republic, to offer a variety of amazing locations for all of its competitions.

The 2024 edition of Super Ball will take place in three different sites around the city, with the Babylon Hotel acting as the centre of operations. The best freestylers from all over the world, including an estimated 450 participants from over 40 countries, will gather between August 18th and 25th to show off their best skills in an attempt to be crowned champion across as many as 7 different categories for both male and female… plus an extra guest sport: Footbag!

Among this year’s new features, Super Ball will include the Footbag Freestyle World Championships, organised in partnership with the International Footbag Players Association (IFPA). This fascinating sport, which had a major role in the development of Freestyle Football, will join forces with the freestyle universe to produce a unique tournament merging two fantastic communities from all around the world.

Just like its predecessors, Super Ball 2024 will be an open event: this means athletes of all levels and nationalities will be able to participate, including the youngest ones thanks to the NextGen tournament for freestylers under the age of 16. The athletes competing in this tournament will need to be 15 years of age or younger on the check-in date, August 18th. The signups process will open on April 12th and close on August 10th; there will be no extensions, so all athletes who haven’t signed up by the end of the registration period will not be allowed to compete. All participants and visitors will get a wristband when they check in to access all areas of the event. There will be extra wristbands available for visitors who want to buy them on-site, but not for participants: signing up on-site is not allowed!

Roma International Freestyle Cup 2024

Great news for freestylers in Italy – and the whole world, as a new event is coming up in 2024: the Roma International Freestyle Cup is around the corner!

This open tournament will take place on May 18th and 19th starting at 15h CET at the Designer Outlet Castel Romano, in Rome, Italy. The event will be open both to males and females in separate brackets and include the following categories:

1×1 Battles
Challenge
Sick Three
Kill the Beat
Iron Man & Woman

The registration fee is 30€ and offers full access to all categories, as well as lunch and injury insurance.

The winners will get awesome awards, including a ticket to fly to Super Ball 2024 for the Italian freestyler with the best result in the 1×1 Battles tournament!

Villa de Mayo Open Tournament 2024

Great news for the all freestylers in Argentina – and the whole of Latin America: a new competition, the Villa de Mayo Open Tournament, is around the corner!

This open event will take place on January 13th at the Villa de Mayo Sports Centre in the province of Buenos Aires, Argentina. The competition will include 1×1 Battles, Iron Man and Kill the Beat contests for both male and female freestylers.

Registration costs $3,000 ARS. Freestylers who want to stay overnight will be able to sleep at the facilities of the Polvorines – Sociedad Alemana de Gimnastas (SAG) for a cost of $5,000 ARS per night.

Bolivian National Freestyle Football Championship 2023

Great news for all freestylers from Bolivia: the 2023 edition of the Bolivian National Freestyle Football Championship is around the corner!

This national event will take place between December 16th and 17th, with qualifiers at the UAGRM synthetic pitches starting at 9:30am BOT and finals on the next day at the Urban Park in the city of Santa Cruz de la Sierra. The event will include a 1×1 Battles competition, as well as tournaments of Challenge, Sick Three, Iron Man and Show Flow.

Participating in the event costs 20 Bs: the winners will get awesome awards!

Ecuatorian Freestyle Football Championship 2023

Great news for all freestylers from Ecuador: the 2023 edition of the Ecuatorian Freestyle Football Championship is around the corner!

This national event will take place on December 16th starting at 11am ET at the Parque la Carolina, in the city of Quito. The event will include a 1×1 Battles competition, as well as tournaments of Iron Man and Sick Three.

The participation fee is $10 USD; the winners will get awesome awards!
