The website of the WFFA changes domain to evolve and improve: enter worldfreestylefootball.org

The World Freestyle Football Association has announced today a significant technical update to one of its primary platforms — the official website. From today, the Association’s main online presence will move from www.thewffa.org to www.worldfreestylefootball.org. This transition, which will not alter any of the site’s existing functions, is designed to deliver enhanced reliability, stronger security and improved performance. It also lays the groundwork for the innovative developments the WFFA plans to introduce in the months ahead.

In line with this change, the Association’s corporate email addresses will also be updated: addresses previously ending in @thewffa.org will now use the @worldfreestylefootball.org format. The WFFA will be proactively communicating with all its stakeholders — including athletes, fans, partners, and institutions — to ensure the transition is carried out seamlessly, without disruption to ongoing activities or services.

“This update is just a little glimpse of something much bigger,” said Lukáš ‘Lucaso’ Škoda, Head of Operations at the WFFA. “Our move to the new domain marks another small step in a broader transformation that will completely change the WFFA for the future. In this occasion, we’d like to thank our partners at GameDay for their invaluable support and expertise in making this transition smooth and efficient.”

The WFFA teams up with World Football Summit to tackle themes of fan engagement, governance and future technology in Sports

The World Freestyle Football Association has announced today a new partnership with World Football Summit, the most dynamic and reputable Football Business conference in the world, to bring their experience of innovation, impact and entertainment to wider audiences.

The football industry is evolving rapidly and new generations are expecting different experiences both in the physical and digital worlds. Freestyle Football provides an accessible and highly engaging experience, currently receiving over 5 billion video views per year from a primarily GenZ audience

Whether it’s a halftime performance in a stadium, playing games such as EA FC’s Volta, watching amazing tricks through social media platforms or actually picking up a ball and having a go in your own backyard, there is something for everyone with Freestyle and Street Football.

The WFFA are currently in the process of launching the first decentralised governance model in sport to give Freestyle Football athletes an active and transparent voice on all matters, with professional football clubs and players collaborating with the community in a bid to engage and grow their audiences. All of these stories and more are what will be unveiled in greater detail together with World Football Summit.

“Having attended WFS as a delegate for a number of years now, it is very exciting for us to now have the platform within the prestigious network they have created worldwide”, said Dan Wood, Co-Founder and Head of Partnerships at the WFFA. “We want to promote the values and opportunity that Freestyle Football brings to the industry, but also tell the stories of incredible athletes and their power to inspire and engage audiences.”

“We have always been big fans of bringing new perspectives to the football industry and our partnership with the WFFA is a great way to do so”, said Jan Alessie, Cofounder and Director of World Football Summit. “This partnership will generate discussion around innovation, offer great entertainment for all attendees, and help the industry learn new ways to engage GenZ fans worldwide”.

The partnership will kick off at the upcoming summit in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on December 12-13, where WFFA representatives will be discussing the potential use case of blockchain technology in Sport. The Association will also facilitate the connection with local freestylers from the local community which will surely offer a unique show to the attending delegates.

  • The WFFA launches a brand-new website

The WFFA launches a brand-new website

The World Freestyle Football Association (WFFA) has reached today a key milestone in the process of digitalisation of its assets – and the sport of Freestyle Football itself: the launch of a brand-new website, built in partnership with the sports technology brand GameDay. The new digital platform has been created to act as a hub for all the activities around Freestyle Football, from live event registration and ticketing to online membership of the Association. The global community of freestyle professionals, amateurs and fans will be able to find a wide range of resources and information in an easier and faster manner than in the previous online home of the WFFA.

The new WFFA website will include a calendar with a comprehensive guide to all the competitions organised by the Association (notably, but not limited to, the Super Ball, Red Bull Street Style and the Youth World Championship), as well as rulings, rankings, news and training programs. The site will also offer a library of assets and resources for media, as well as a dedicated space for the WFFA partners – including the likes of Red Bull, Soccerex, SWRL, 4Freestyle, AYNIAB, GameDay and the most recent addition, German football powerhouse Borussia Dortmund.

“We are tremendously proud to present the new WFFA website to the freestyle community worldwide”, said Steve Elias, President of the WFFA. “Our aim has always been to help freestylers of any level and fans of the sport to connect with us and among themselves to strengthen the community: we are certain that our new digital home will be a huge step forward in this direction.”

“We believe this is great news, both for the WFFA and for the sport of Freestyle Football as a whole”, said Dan Wood, Head of Partnerships at the WFFA. “This is a cornerstone of the growth plan that we’ve designed for the Association and the sport, that will see a myriad of benefits not just for the community of freestylers but also for the fans of the sport and for our partners around the world. Fasten your seatbelts, though – there is still much more to come in the coming months!”.
